PGS Worldwide is seeking a Circuit Card Inspector in Oldsmar, FL for a contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Circuit Card Inspector will visually inspect solder connections and conformal coating on circuit card assemblies using IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 requirements. This role requires prior solder and coating inspection experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work under a microscope for extended periods.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of visual solder inspection experience on circuit card assemblies.
- 1+ year of conformal coating inspection experience on circuit card assemblies.
- IPC-A-610 experience.
- IPC-J-STD-001 experience.
- Prior experience visually inspecting SMT and through-hole solder connections.
- Ability to inspect solder and conformal coating using drawings, written inspection instructions, IPC standards, reference documents, and prescribed specifications.
- Ability to identify nonconformances using applicable documentation and specifications.
- Ability to work under a microscope for long periods of time, up to 10 hours.
- Ability to sit at a workstation for long periods of time.
- Experience using measuring devices such as dial indicators, preset micrometers, and scales.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and zero-defect quality mindset.
- Ability to interpret drawings, diagrams, parts lists, work instructions, revision control, and reference documents.
- Proficient with personal computers.
- Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interface professionally with operations teams when addressing quality defects.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to take and pass required medical and vision exams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience performing 100% visual inspection of circuit card assemblies.
- Experience inspecting to manufacturing and industry specifications.
- Experience working in an electronics manufacturing or aerospace/defense production environment.
What You’ll Do
- Visually inspect solder and conformal coating on circuit card assemblies.
- Inspect SMT and through-hole solder connections to IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 requirements.
- Use microscopes and measuring devices to verify workmanship and quality.
- Review drawings, written inspection instructions, parts lists, IPC standards, and work instructions.
- Identify and document nonconformances.
- Support quality and process requirements with a zero-defect mindset.
- Communicate quality defects clearly and professionally with operations teams.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 1st shift.
- Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM.
- Weekend overtime may be required.
