PGS Worldwide is seeking a Circuit Design Engineer Senior for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This hybrid role supports the development of high-precision control circuit assemblies for Laser Weapon System (LWS) turret controls used in next-generation directed energy weapons. The selected candidate will lead the end-to-end development of control circuit hardware, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver robust, high-performance circuit card assemblies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Relevant circuit-card design experience, including schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Ability to perform analog and mixed-signal circuit analysis and simulation
  • Secret clearance required at submittal with an investigation or CV date within the last five years

Preferred Skills

  • Experience updating design requirements and coordinating servo requirements
  • Experience incorporating servo and subject matter expert feedback into schematic updates
  • Ability to perform power, stability, ADC/DAC accuracy, electrical stress, and signal quality analyses
  • Experience conducting electrical engineering implementation and packaging reviews
  • Proficiency with Mentor Graphics, Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or comparable tools
  • Strong background in analog and mixed-signal design, power electronics, and control-loop theory
  • Experience with SPICE-based simulation and signal-integrity analysis tools
  • Familiarity with ADC/DAC selection, voltage-level translation, and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques
  • Knowledge of military standards and qualification processes
  • Experience with vendor management, low-volume high-reliability PWB fabrication, and component sourcing
  • Familiarity with system integration testing and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation environments
  • Prior work supporting laser or directed-energy weapon systems or high-energy electromagnetic applications

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full product lifecycle for control circuit assemblies from concept through system integration
  • Develop detailed schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard tools
  • Create and execute verification plans to validate electrical, timing, and safety requirements
  • Define control algorithms, feedback loops, and interface requirements with servo specialists and subject matter experts
  • Collaborate with mechanical and packaging engineers to resolve board-level constraints
  • Support prototype fabrication, assembly, testing, and yield analysis activities
  • Generate and maintain complete design documentation
  • Coordinate with silicon and PCB vendors and provide design files, bills of materials, and manufacturing instructions
