PGS Worldwide is seeking a Circuit Design Engineer in Orlando, FL for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This hybrid role supports circuit card assembly design for high-performance electronic hardware used in precision engagement systems. The position owns end-to-end circuit card design, requirements development, integration, verification, validation, documentation, and coordination with cross-functional engineering teams.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in circuit design engineering or a related discipline

  • Experience with circuit card design, integration, and test for digital electronics, power electronics, analog/mixed-signal, or FPGA-based processor boards

  • Experience with Siemens Xpedition Enterprise or equivalent schematic capture tool

  • Experience with Cadence PSpice or equivalent circuit simulation and analysis tool

  • Experience with signal integrity tools such as Mentor Graphics HyperLynx or equivalent

  • Experience developing and refining system, performance, interface, and environmental requirements for circuit card designs

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with circuit card design processes and Design Assurance processes

  • Experience with military standards and specifications, including MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-704

  • Experience with Xilinx/AMD FPGA families such as UltraScale or Versal

  • High-speed design experience including PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet, SERDES, or DDR4/5 memory interfaces

  • MATLAB experience for analysis and simulation

  • Experience with MOSA and WOSA

  • Experience with CAMEO or equivalent requirements management tools

  • Experience with rigid-flex circuit card design

  • Experience with environmental qualification testing, including vibration, shock, thermal, or radiation

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills

  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance

What You’ll Do

  • Own end-to-end design of circuit card assemblies, translating system requirements into reliable, production-ready circuit cards

  • Define performance, power, and interface requirements and document them in clear, traceable specifications

  • Create schematic capture, PCB layout, and bills of materials using industry-standard tools

  • Conduct simulation, signal integrity, and power analysis studies to validate design choices

  • Build and test prototype hardware in the lab, troubleshoot issues, and iterate designs to meet verification and validation milestones

  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to support subsystem integration and SWaP-C compliance

  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings, design reviews, and status updates for engineering, program management, and customers

  • Manage configuration control, documentation, and change requests in the PLM system

  • Support environmental qualification testing and analyze results to drive design improvements

Work Schedule / Shift

  • Hybrid schedule with core days in office on Tuesday and Wednesday

  • Flex work-from-home days may be Monday or Thursday, dependent on program needs

  • Required to be on site 3 days per week
