Position Overview:

• Seeking a Senior Cisco Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the implementation of Private VLAN (PVLAN) segmentation within a Cisco UCS and VMware environment.
• This consultant will work directly with engineering team to validate architecture, assist with implementation, troubleshoot technical challenges, and provide guidance for PCI-compliant network segmentation.
• The consultant will focus on the initial implementation and knowledge transfer, enabling Telecommunication's internal engineering team to complete the remaining deployment activities.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze the existing Cisco UCS networking architecture.
• Design and implement Private VLAN (PVLAN) configurations.
• Evaluate Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnect limitations and recommend supported solutions.
• Configure VMware Distributed Switches (VDS) for Private VLAN implementation.
• Collaborate with Telecommunication engineers to establish PCI-compliant network segmentation.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2 networking, VLAN, and switching issues.
• Assist with implementation across multiple PCI domains.
• Document configuration recommendations and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to Telecommunication engineering teams.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of Cisco enterprise networking experience.
• Expert-level Cisco UCS experience.
• Strong Cisco Nexus switching experience.
• Advanced knowledge of VLANs, Private VLANs (PVLAN), trunking, and Layer 2 networking.
• VMware vSphere and VMware Distributed Switch (VDS) experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise data center environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and architecture skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PCI-compliant networking experience.
• Multi-tenant data center experience.
• Cisco CCNP Enterprise or CCIE certification.
• VMware VCP certification.
• Experience performing architecture reviews and mentoring engineering teams.

Pay Rate: $85 - $90 / Hour
