The City Manager serves as the chief executive officer of the City with responsibility for planning, directing, and managing all activities and operations of the city and ensuring that all public services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner. The next City Manager for the City of Englewood must be a seasoned, values-driven, and inspiring public sector leader with a genuine passion for public service. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with strong execution skills and possess the emotional intelligence, humility, and interpersonal skills necessary to lead a complex organization. Englewood seeks a proven leader who understands how to address big city challenges while preserving the relationships, accessibility, and small-town feel that make the community unique.

The successful candidate will be a highly communicative and collaborative relationship builder who listens well, earns trust, and communicates with transparency, consistency, and respect. Politically savvy and emotionally intelligent, the next City Manager will work effectively with the City Council, staff, residents, businesses, and regional partners while fostering a healthy governance model built on trust and confidence in staff. The successful candidate must be able to translate the City Council’s Strategic Plan into clear priorities and effective day-to-day operations while addressing complex issues involving infrastructure, water and utilities, redevelopment, capital planning, and long-term financial sustainability.
