Civil - Associate Engineering Technician - Solar

Location: Must be located within 50 miles of one of the following offices (please include candidate location in candidate summary):

  • Overland Park, KS
  • Denver, CO
  • Houston, TX
  • Phoenix, AZ
  • Tualatin, OR
Pay: $37.13/hour
Type: Contract to Possible Hire
Work Authorization:Green Card Required

Position Summary

COMPANY is seeking a Civil Associate Engineering Technician to support utility-scale solar and renewable energy projects. This role assists with the design and development of civil site infrastructure, including grading, drainage, roadways, erosion control, fencing, and underground utilities. The position works closely with engineering teams using Autodesk Civil 3D and other industry-standard design tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with Civil 3D grading
  • Autodesk Civil 3D experience
  • Diploma or Certificate required
  • Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience
  • Must be located within 50 miles of one of the listed office locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solar project experience
  • PVcase experience
  • PV Farm software experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify civil engineering drawings, site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts.
  • Create, update, and maintain project deliverables using Civil 3D and other design tools.
  • Perform basic calculations, quantity takeoffs, and dimensional checks.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards, project requirements, and applicable procedures.
  • Coordinate with other project teams to support design development and minimize conflicts.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and stay current with new technologies and processes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians as needed.
