Job Description
CAD Drafter working at JBW&T use AutoCAD/Civil3D drawings in order to produce plans, and drawings depicting various infrastructures to be used for civil engineering and/or land surveying. Drafter is expected to work under the direction of the Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor, communicating project completion and having work reviewed against established standards and guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
- Designs and prepares detailed electronic (CAD) working plans for civil projects.
- Review drawing sets for accuracy, scale, layering standards, and compliance with local municipal and state codes.
- Ability to read and understand project plans.
- Knowledge of constructability and construction practices.
- Draw property boundaries, topographic contours, and utilities.
- Prepare legal descriptions, subdivision plats, and as-built drawings.
- Knowledge of 2D and 3D presentation of designs.
- Self-motivated and able to take direction from leaders to deliver timely upon objectives.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Qualifications
Technical degree or Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
2–5 years of drafting experience, preferably in surveying and civil engineering projects.
Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
