Civil Construction Foreman
Our client is a well-established civil construction contractor specializing in heavy civil, site development, excavation, utility installation, roadway improvements, and infrastructure projects throughout New Jersey. With a reputation for safety, quality workmanship, and project execution, they continue to expand their operations and are seeking a hands-on Foreman to lead field crews and drive project success.
Hiring Need / Day to Day Due to continued growth and an expanding project backlog, we are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Foreman to oversee field operations on civil construction projects throughout Northern New Jersey. Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise crews performing sitework, excavation, grading, utility installation, concrete work, roadway construction, and related civil activities.
- Coordinate daily field operations to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Assign work activities and monitor crew productivity and workmanship.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project plans.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and jobsite inspections.
- Track materials, equipment usage, and labor hours.
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize delays.
- Maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation.

Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in civil construction with previous foreman or crew leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of excavation, underground utilities, grading, paving, concrete, and site development.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing multiple field personnel.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
- Experience working on municipal, DOT, utility, or commercial sitework projects is highly preferred.
Compensation:
- Competitive base salary: $80,000 - $120,000+ (commensurate with experience)
