The Civil Construction Manager is responsible for leading large-scale heavy civil projects, including mass earthwork, underground utilities, transportation infrastructure, water resources, and site development projects throughout the Southeastern United States. This individual ensures that projects are delivered safely, within budget, on time, and in accordance with design specifications. The role demands expertise in managing field operations, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills are essential to effectively guide projects from initiation through completion.
Work Environment:
Work is performed both indoors and outside in all types of environmental conditions. This position performs strenuous physical activity, for long periods, under varying and adverse field conditions. This position must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs., stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.
Required Experience
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of 10 years of progressive heavy civil construction experience with significant experience at the Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, General Superintendent, or equivalent leadership level.
Demonstrated success managing large-scale civil construction projects involving one or more of the following:
Mass earthwork and grading
Underground utility installation
Storm drainage systems
Site development
Transportation infrastructure
Water resources projects
Landfill construction or closures
Dams, reservoirs, levees, or pump stations
Environmental remediation projects
Experience leading multiple Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and large field crews on complex projects.
Proven track record delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
