Civil Design Tech I McMillen is seeking a motivated Civil Design Tech I to support our engineering and design teams on water resources, restoration, hydropower, and infrastructure projects throughout North America. This is an entry‑level position ideal for a recent graduate or early‑career professional looking to develop technical skills in Civil 3D, drafting, and engineering design support. The successful candidate will work closely with project leads, designers, and engineers while learning industry's best practices, company standards, and quality procedures. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, eager to learn, and enjoys solving technical challenges in a collaborative environment.Responsibilities Assist with development of engineering drawings using Civil 3D and AutoCADPrepare figures, exhibits, maps, and plan sheets for project deliverablesAssist designers and engineers with project production tasksFollow established CAD standards and QA/QC proceduresOrganize and maintain project files and documentationParticipate in project coordination meetingsLearn and apply company design and drafting standardsSupport multidisciplinary project teams on a variety of infrastructure projectsQualifications Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field0–2 years of relevant experienceBasic understanding of engineering drawings and drafting principlesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsExposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D through coursework, internships, or professional experienceFamiliarity with Microsoft Office applicationsInterest in water resources, restoration, hydropower, or civil infrastructure projectsPhysical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
