PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK
This position is an essential part of the CID Department and assists the Program Manager in developing the following: Scope of Work, Project Costs, Preparing Plans and Specifications, Evaluating Change Order Proposals, Attending Plan-in-Hand, Pre-Bid and Pre-Construction Meetings, Attending Bid Openings, Review and Recommendation of Bid Award, Project Management during Construction for In-house and Consultant Design Projects, Close out of Project, Preparation of Record Drawings. The applicant must be skilled in Building Construction and possess the necessary skills to develop plans and specifications for various types of building improvement projects including but not limited to various types of Parks and Recreation projects, drainage improvement projects and minor street improvement projects.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree or completion of a technical specialty program of eighteen months - three years duration in civil engineering technology (or closely related field) and significant prior working experience in the civil engineering field incorporating the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the specific position.
TYPE OF EXAMINATION
Examination will be a multiple-choice test.
