DescriptionDavis & Floyd is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our Site Design Team in our Charleston Office. Our firm has been providing quality engineering services to our clients since 1954. This candidate will become part of a team that provides project consulting, site planning, design, permitting, and engineering services to a wide variety of clients. The ideal candidate will work in a strong team environment of highly motivated professionals for a privately owned and oriented company that prides itself on integrity and quality.ResponsibilitiesPerform all aspects of site design such as processing surveys, grading, drainage, stormwater management, water distribution and sewer collection, erosion control, SWPPP and reports, as well as project bidding and construction managementDevelop construction cost estimatesSolve problems and provide technical adviceCheck and prepare site plans, designs, and drawingsReview data collected through field studies and surveysApply sound engineering principles to the solution of routine technical problemsCoordinate and manage daily activities/scheduling of various assigned projectsReview and prepare design computations and quantity estimatesAssist senior level engineers and project managers with project design, project specifications, and inspectionsCorrespond with clients and regulatory agencies by phone, in writing and in person to communicate and establish expectationsConduct construction site visits to monitor progress and other contracted construction servicesAssist senior level engineers and project managers with ensuring budgets, schedules and project specifications are metAssist in preparation of presentation material for client meetings and public review sessionsMentor and oversee the work of staff civil engineers and technical subordinatesTrain and mold EIT's into consummate licensed professionalsProvide necessary coordination and follow-up on the work to ensure quality standards and client satisfaction are metAssist senior civil engineers/project managers by executing additional duties and responsibilities as assignedRequirementsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) is requiredMinimum of 8 years design experience in site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and permitting with an emphasis on technical design and permitting on commercial and industrial projectsFamiliarity with federal, state, and local agency regulationsKnowledge of engineering and surveying practicesExperience managing a wide variety of site development projects, and working with clientsAbility to manage and clearly communicate with staff and clientsExperience in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk Vehicle Tracking, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, SEDCAD and PCSWMMValid driver's license and acceptable driving record requiredSkill in planning, organizing, and prioritizing workA positive attitude and willingness to train and learn#J-18808-Ljbffr
