    Civil Engineer ================

    Department: Civil Municipal: Employment Type: Full Time Location: Detroit MIDescription ------------

    The Mannik & Smith Group Inc. (MSG) is a people-focused, award-winning full-service consulting firm that offers a wide array of services, including civil and geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, planning, landscape architecture, agriculture, surveying, and construction support. Our talented staff of over 650 professionals deliver integrated planning, design, engineering, and construction solutions.

    Due to MSGs continued growth, a new opening is available for a Civil Engineer to assist with our projects in Detroit, MI.

    Key Responsibilities -------------------

    • Develop design drawings and plans using Autodesk Civil 3D, including:
    • Site grading
    • Alignments and profiles
    • Surfaces and corridors
    • Utility layouts
    • Storm sewer and sanitary sewer networks
    • Prepare components of engineering packages, such as:
    • Construction drawings
    • Quantities and cost estimates
    • Drainage calculations and reports
    • Permit submittals
    • Assist senior engineers and project managers with:
    • Technical analysis
    • Project coordination
    • Quality control reviews
    • Scheduling and task planning
    • Conduct periodic field visits for site assessments, measurements, and construction support.
    • Ensure all deliverables meet applicable municipal, county, and state standards.

    Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise -------------------------------

    • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
    • 1-3 years of civil site design experience.
    • Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D for drafting and basic design.
    • Understanding of civil engineering concepts, including grading, utilities, stormwater, and site layout.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
