Civil Engineer Responsibilities:
Design, analyze, and review civil and structural systems for nuclear facilities, including modules, foundations, supports, and containment structures. Conduct seismic evaluations, dynamic analysis, and load calculations to ensure structural safety and performance. Develop technical specifications, drawings, and construction documentation. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and safety engineers. Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, NRC regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ASCE, ACI, IBC). Support licensing, permitting, and regulatory submission processes. Participate in R&D initiatives for advanced structural materials and innovative construction methods.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 7+ years of experience in civil/structural design, including seismic analysis. Strong knowledge of structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS). Familiarity with NRC regulations, ASCE/SEI 43, and seismic qualification standards. Excellent problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills. Experience with project and contract management is preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure is preferred.
