    Civil Engineer II: Wastewater Engineer

    Why This Role Matters

    As a Civil Engineer II: Wastewater Engineer, you'll help design and improve the infrastructure that supports growing communities. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll contribute to wastewater treatment and collection system projects while building your technical expertise and progressing toward PE licensure.

    What You'll Do

    • Support the planning, design, and development of wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure, including rehabilitation and new construction projects.
    • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
    • Conduct field investigations and site visits.
    • Assist with technical reports, cost estimates, project documentation, and construction administration.
    • Apply engineering principles related to hydraulics, pipeline networks, and wastewater treatment systems.
    • Participate in project meetings, client discussions, and proposal efforts.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
    • Work under the guidance of senior engineers while taking on increasing responsibility.

    As a Civil Engineer II, you'll move beyond learning the fundamentals and begin taking ownership of meaningful project work. You'll contribute technical solutions, collaborate across disciplines, and steadily expand your responsibilities while building the experience needed for PE licensure and future project leadership.

    • Expand your wastewater engineering expertise through hands-on project experience.
    • Build trusted relationships with project teams and clients.
    • Develop the skills needed to advance into increasingly independent engineering roles.

    What You'll Bring

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
    • 2+ years of relevant experience.
    • Passed the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam and actively working toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

    Technical Skills

    • Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS software.
    • Experience in the design of wastewater systems.
    • Ability to utilize modeling software such as HEC-RAS, InfoWorks, GPS-X, and PCSWMM.
    • Knowledge of EPA, state, and local regulatory requirements.
    • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.

    Travel

    Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, and field investigations may be required.
