Position Description
Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) - Rapid City, SD
Successful candidates will work under supervision to develop skills in report writing, design, plans, construction observation, and administration, focusing on personal and career growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform construction observation and administration on water and municipal projects
- Assist in developing plans, specifications, and estimates
- Support design and construction of private site developments, streets, water, sewer, and municipal facilities
- Assist surveyors with field data gathering and staking
- Help prepare technical reports
- Occasional travel, including overnight stays
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Fundamentals of Engineering certification
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
- 2+ years of civil engineering project experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to travel
- Ability to meet pre-employment screening requirements
Physical Qualifications
- Ability to walk up to 3 miles on uneven terrain
- Stand or sit for extended periods
- Occasional climbing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 20 pounds
- Wear PPE as required
- Occasional evenings, weekends, and travel
