The City of Wilsonville is looking for an experienced, collaborative engineer to join our Engineering Division. This recruitment may be filled at either the Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer level, depending on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated expertise. The opportunity is ideal for candidates seeking meaningful work, professional growth, and the ability to make a visible impact in a thriving and innovative community. The position combines technical engineering, project management, and public service, offering the chance to help deliver infrastructure improvements that support Wilsonvilles continued success and high quality of life.
At Wilsonville, engineers dont just review plans or manage projects from behind a desk. They play a direct role in shaping the community by leading transportation, water, wastewater, stormwater, and other public infrastructure projects that residents use every day. From concept development and design through construction and project closeout, youll have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects that make a lasting difference.
The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative team that values innovation, problem-solving, and professional growth. Depending on experience, the selected engineer may serve as a project manager on complex capital improvement projects, coordinate consultants and contractors, review public and private development proposals, prepare technical analyses and recommendations, and present information to stakeholders, advisory bodies, and City leadership. Senior-level candidates may also lead complex multi-agency initiatives, mentor junior staff, and help advance strategic engineering priorities for the organization.
Were looking for someone who enjoys solving challenging problems, communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences, and working collaboratively to deliver practical solutions. Whether your expertise lies in transportation, utility infrastructure, development review, capital project delivery, or a combination of disciplines, youll find opportunities to apply and expand your skills in an environment that values initiative and creativity.

Your work will be visible, your contributions will matter, and youll have the opportunity to see projects move from planning through construction while building meaningful relationships across departments and within the community.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelors degree in civil engineering, professional engineer registration, and experience managing engineering projects. Placement as a Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer will be determined based on the candidates experience, technical expertise, project management capabilities, and demonstrated leadership skills.
