    Moffatt & Nichol, a global infrastructure advisor specializing in the planning and design of facilities that shape and serve coastlines, harbors and rivers, is looking for an entry‑level Transportation Engineer to join its Carson City office. The firm provides customized service and a level of excellence across primary practice areas – ports and harbors; coastal, environmental and water resources; urban waterfronts and marinas; transportation, bridges and rail; inspection and rehabilitation; and energy.Duties and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Perform engineering design tasks for roadway, municipal, rail and port projects from preliminary to final designDevelop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packagesBegin to foster relationships with regulatory agencies, local government, NDOT and state clients, as well as private clientsProvide engineering design services for traditional design and design‑build highway projectsMentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans, including implementation and knowledge of cross sections, traffic control, drainage and signing and pavement markings plansAssist in coordinating design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors and client managersParticipate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performanceIdentify schedule and cost variances and develop and implement recommendations for corrective actionsOther DutiesPlease note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
