Civil Engineer - Water Distribution Systems
Colorado Springs Utilities is looking for a Civil Engineer interested in the water and wastewater utility industry. In this position, you will aid the Water and Wastewater Design team in various phases of water distribution and wastewater collection system projects, including data analysis, researching and drafting standards and specifications, reviewing and approving new materials, design and construction. What Will It Take to Be Successful?
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze data and develop recommendations
Excellent attention to quality, detail, and accuracy
Knowledge of AutoCAD is desirable but not required
Professional demeanor and strong communication skills
Innovative mindset and a willingness to explore new ideas and approaches
Demonstrated curiosity and commitment to continuous learning and professional development

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (1/3 of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary only if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other criteria are met.
