You'll lead a flagship civil engineering office for a well-established engineering consultancy, overseeing operations, driving business growth, and guiding a team of engineers and surveyors. Your Day-to-Day

  • Lead and develop your team — mentor engineers and surveyors, provide technical guidance and training, and foster ongoing professional growth
  • Oversee civil engineering design — direct reports, calculations, construction drawings, and specifications from concept through delivery
  • Ensure quality and accountability — conduct technical reviews of staff work, deliverables, and correspondence while maintaining and improving QA/QC procedures
  • Solve complex engineering challenges — troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations that keep projects on time, within scope, and on budget
  • Drive business development — build and maintain strong client relationships, develop project proposals and scopes, and pursue new opportunities with both existing and prospective clients
  • Represent the firm externally — engage with clients, agencies, and professional organizations to strengthen the office's visibility and industry presence
  • Improve internal operations — support enhancements to tools, standards, and resources that raise the quality and efficiency of the team's output

What We're Looking For

  • Licensed Professional Engineer with strong technical skills in civil engineering design
  • Proven experience preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, and providing construction-phase engineering support
  • Demonstrated leadership, staff management, and mentoring capabilities
  • Track record of solving complex engineering problems
  • Experience developing detailed reports, client proposals, project scopes, and budgets
  • Strong regional client relationships with a proven ability to generate new business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
