Join SeamonWhiteside as a Civil Engineering Project Manager in our growing Columbia, SC office.We are seeking an ambitious professional to manage civil engineering projects and lead a team of designers and coordinators.Description As a Civil Engineering Project Manager, you will drive the financial performance, scheduling, client relations, permitting, and delivery of civil design projects. You will also mentor junior staff and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality and on‑time delivery.Key Responsibilities Coordinate directly with clients on project requirements, expectations, deliverables, agency regulations, scheduling, and deadlines.Attend project coordination meetings with clients, project team members, government agencies, and contractors.Prepare project permitting submittal packages for agency reviews and applications.Assist project managers in due diligence research and identify potential risk factors.Review site work bids from contractors related to civil design projects.Prepare and review project technical specifications.Prepare and compile technical reports related to the design of civil infrastructure (e.g., drainage reports, water calculations, project narratives).Coordinate project workloads with other team members.Make independent engineering design decisions and communicate solutions to the project manager.Assist in construction administration responsibilities for projects from pre‑construction through closeout.Coordinate with clients, contractors, and government agencies to resolve field issues, review change orders and pay apps, evaluate as‑built drawings, and coordinate project closeout.Provide suggested solutions to field troubleshooting issues.Engage in community involvement with an outside organization that benefits SW+ business development.Participate in continuing education and lunch‑and‑learn opportunities (at least 8 hours per year).Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.5–10 years of relevant experience, preferably with a civil engineering design firm or construction background.Desired Skills Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification required.Basic knowledge of project proposals (scope of work, permitting process, project budget, and project schedule).Ability to coordinate with outside consultants (surveyors, traffic consultants, architects, geotechnical engineers, MEP engineers, wetland consultants, arborists, etc.).Developmental time management and organization skills.Ability to mentor civil designers, project coordinators, technicians, and interns.Demonstrated proficiency in managing at least one civil design project from kickoff to closeout.Proficiency in client contact skills and effective business development.Ability to perform QA/QC reviews on civil design work and plan presentation.Ability to manage and assign tasks to designers, technicians, and interns efficiently.Ability to prepare complete construction documents for multiple project types in various jurisdictions.Ability to review and comment on final plats, roadway and drainage as‑built drawings, water and sewer as‑built drawings.Ability to coordinate as‑built comments between surveyors and contractors.Knowledge of the closeout process and timeline.Involvement in companywide strategic initiatives and committees.Valid driver's license.Other Skills & Abilities Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.Strong organizational and project management skills.Positive attitude and strong work ethic.Excellent problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels.Ability to be both creative and analytical.Positive, solution‑oriented attitude.Detail‑oriented and accurate.Ability to work in a team environment.Benefits Flexible schedule (work/life balance).10 company paid holidays.100% company‑paid dental, STD, LTD, and term life insurance.Monthly cell phone reimbursement.Paid time off (PTO).Medical, vision, voluntary term life, accidental, critical illness, Allstate term to 100% life insurance, and Nationwide pet insurance.401(k) with employer match.Health savings account (HSA) / flexible spending account (FSA).Wellness program.Equal Opportunity Employer SeamonWhiteside is an equal‑opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability, age, or other legally protected status.#J-18808-Ljbffr
