At Thomas & Hutton, you'll contribute to a wide range of civil engineering projects—including land development, roadways, water, and sewer—while working alongside experienced engineers and project managers. If you're ready to apply your technical expertise and take on increasing responsibility in a collaborative environment, this role is for you.What you'll do Prepare construction plans, exhibits, and reports for civil engineering projects including land development, roadways, water, and sewerDevelop and revise detailed drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D in accordance with company standardsPerform routine to moderately complex design calculations and assist with data collection for engineering analysesPrepare quantity take-offs and opinions of probable construction costAssist in the preparation of project specifications, permit applications, and bid packagesCoordinate with engineers, project managers, and other technicians to support project deliveryEnsure work is completed within project schedules and budgetsApply company CADD standards and contribute to maintaining and improving graphic standardsCommunicate project status and progress updates to project managersParticipate in project meetings with internal teams and occasionally with clients, agencies, or contractorsWhat you bring High school diploma or technical school training in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience3+ years of experience using CADD in an engineering environmentDemonstrated experience working on land development projects using Autodesk Civil 3DAdvanced knowledge of CADD and related design toolsStrong understanding of company graphic standards and drafting proceduresWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize workflowStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills and ability to meet project deadlinesAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamWhy Thomas & Hutton?
