Environmental/Civil EngineerIn the role of Environmental/Civil Engineer, we'll count on you to:Design and plan production of general civil work related to environmental and solid waste industry infrastructure projects within our resources business group, including planning, site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activitiesPrepare technical reports, memorandums and other project documentsPrepare quantity calculations, cost estimates, specifications and contract documents for public entity projectsPerform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and proceduresMake decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as neededFunction as a Lead Engineer or Project Manager on mid-size projects as neededSupervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as neededPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsA minimum of 6 years experience designing and creating plans and specifications for environmental engineering projects, such as remediation design and implementationProficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and GIS experienceRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related Engineering fieldPrevious experience designing and creating plans and specifications for environmental engineering projects, such as remediation design and implementationProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseSelf‑motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a taskAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a mustPrimary LocationUnited States-HawaiiOther LocationsNone listedIndustryWasteScheduleFull‑timeEmployee StatusRegularJob PostingSep 16, 2025Equal OpportunityAt HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.
