We are seeking a Construction Estimator to join the team in the Denver metro area. This role services commercial, industrial, municipal, transportation, and government clients throughout Colorado, Denver metro area.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced construction professional who enjoys both preconstruction and project management. Working directly alongside company leadership, you'll play a key role in winning profitable work, managing client relationships, and helping deliver complex specialty construction projects for one of Colorado's most respected contractors.

What You'll Do as the Construction Estimator:

  • Manage the full estimating process from bid opportunity through proposal submission
  • Review plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to develop accurate project estimates
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, equipment, subcontractor, and material pricing
  • Research bid opportunities and cultivate relationships with general contractors and repeat clients
  • Manage change order pricing, negotiations, and contract modifications throughout project execution
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and contract requirements to protect profitability
  • Coordinate with company leadership, field operations, and administrative staff throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain estimating databases, unit pricing, subcontractor information, and historical cost data
  • Identify project risks, constructability concerns, and value engineering opportunities
  • Support project execution through client communication, documentation, and problem resolution
  • Continuously improve estimating accuracy, processes, and operational efficiency

Must-Haves as the Construction Estimator:

  • Construction estimating experience within commercial, civil, industrial, or specialty contracting
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and quantity takeoffs
  • Experience preparing competitive bids and managing project budgets
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Self-directed, organized, and highly accountable work style
  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
  • Professional writing skills and attention to detail

Nice-to-Haves as the Construction Estimator:

  • Experience with concrete, demolition, civil, or specialty subcontracting
  • Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree
  • Microsoft Project experience
  • Experience with government or public works contracts
  • Previous project management responsibilities
  • Experience developing cost databases and historical estimating tools
