    About this RoleHBK Engineering is seeking a Field Lead, who will lead a field surveying crew and is responsible for carrying out survey work as directed by a licensed surveyor. They operate survey instruments, oversee crew members, collect accurate field data, ensure safety compliance, and maintain daily field records. The Field Lead ensures work follows established procedures, plans, and specifications but typically works under close or general supervision. Work location TexasWhat You'll DoLinear field boundaryElectrical Transmission StakingPipeline surveyingBasic SUE field work including Pipe & Cable Locating & GPR collection.Basic terrestrial scanning projectsProficient with GPS RTK staking and data collection as well as static observationsFamiliar with use of total stations and robotic total stations.Capable to operate an optical and digital level.UAS Base Level - Part 107 FAA drone pilotGeneral construction layout accuracy expected:0.20 feet horizontal0.10 feet verticalWhat You'll BringQualifications:Three (3) years of OSP survey experience in with combination of aerial and underground OSP survey is required.Ability to travel up to 90% of the time and work nights/weekends when required.Working knowledge of NESC rules.Datacenter construction experience.High School Diploma or GED.Attention to jobsite safety.Working knowledge of OSP construction techniques and placement methods.Valued but not required skills and experience:PC knowledge and/or use and Microsoft Office Suite (Word / Excel) are preferred.Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.Construction experience is a plus.Bachelor's degree is a plus.I.T./S.I. T Certification is a plus.Surveying experience is a plus.Aerial and/or underground OSP construction experience.Physical requirements:Physically capable of moving about on construction sites, public streets and parkwaysCapable of lifting up to 40lbsAbility to walk and stand for extended periods of time.Ability to sit, kneel, and squat on a daily basis – minimal frequency of kneeling and squattingHand-eye coordination necessary to operate surveying equipment and measurementsWork environment:Work safely outside in all weather conditions year-round.Frequently work in excavations areas and roadways.Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.The noise level in the work environment is occasionally moderate to loud.May be required to work nights or weekends.What You'll GetComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability and employer paid life insurance.
