We are searching for an experienced Civil Gas Engineer to support our Midwest Region located in Lexington, KY.What You'll Be DoingDesign and oversee natural gas transmission and distribution systemsPrepare and review engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimatesConduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for gas infrastructure projectsSupervise technicians and drafters in preparing gas system plansEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsPrepare and submit required documentation and permitsPerform site inspections and monitor construction progressUse CAD and other engineering software for system design and modelingCommunicate with stakeholders including city officials, contractors, and the publicProvide technical support and training to junior staffWhat You Need To HaveBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain1–3 years of experience in gas engineering or a related fieldProficiency in design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3DStrong analytical, communication, and project management skillsAbility to pass a pre‑employment drug screeningIf applicable, a post‑offer fit‑for‑duty evaluation to ensure the individual can safely perform the essential functions of the roleValid driver's licenseA satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)Why Volkert?Volkert is employee owned and a Top 100 design firm, committed to providing clients with creative solutions for sustainability, including improvements to infrastructure, the environment, and natural resources.
