Civil Litigation Attorney

Insurance Defense / Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. This position is focused on insurance defense and civil litigation matters and is an opportunity for an attorney who enjoys taking an active role in cases and developing as a litigator.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of direct litigation experience and be comfortable handling matters through all phases of litigation. We are looking for someone who can manage responsibilities independently while working alongside experienced attorneys on a variety of complex civil matters.

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage a caseload of civil litigation and insurance defense matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other litigation documents
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
• Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and other parties
• Attend court proceedings and represent clients throughout the litigation process
• Work closely with partners and other attorneys on case strategy and resolution

Qualifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois
• At least 3+ years of direct litigation experience
• Background in insurance defense, civil litigation, personal injury defense, or related practice areas preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to independently manage deadlines, case responsibilities, and client expectations
• Trial experience is a plus

Position Details:

• Full-time, in-office position
• Approximately 1,900 billable hour expectation
• Competitive compensation based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit
• Expected salary range: $120,000 - $160,000+
