Civil Litigation Defense Attorney – Fully Remote (Michigan No‑Fault / Insurance Defense)

I am partnering with a well-regarded civil litigation firm that is seeking a Civil Litigation Defense Attorney for a fully remote position. This is an excellent opportunity for a defense-side litigator who wants meaningful file ownership, sophisticated work, and true flexibility while remaining anchored to a reputable, trial-tested team. The firm is looking for an attorney with experience in civil litigation defense, with a strong preference for backgrounds in commercial/trucking and transportation matters, insurance defense (including first- and third-party no‑fault/PIP), subrogation, general negligence, and/or personal injury defense.

• Solid civil litigation defense experience in one or more of the following:

  • Commercial/trucking and transportation matters (auto, motor carrier, and related no‑fault issues)

  • Insurance defense, including first‑party PIP / Michigan no‑fault and third‑party auto liability

  • Subrogation and recovery actions arising out of auto/no‑fault and other covered losses

  • General negligence and personal injury defense (auto, premises, and related tort matters)

• Experience managing files from initial pleadings through discovery, motion practice, and resolution (trial experience is a plus but not required)

• Strong written advocacy skills (motions, briefs, discovery responses) and confident oral communication for hearings and depositions

• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while remaining responsive to clients, colleagues, and deadlines

• Licensed in Michigan (MI) and in good standing
