MSG is growing, and a Civil Project Manager (Residential) is being added to support projects in Columbus.ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & DeliveryManage comprehensive civil engineering design for large residential developments, including master planning, lot layout, road networks, and open-space designGrading and earthwork balancingSanitary, storm, and water utility designStormwater management and detention/retention systemsLead project planning including scope, schedule, resourcing, and budget managementOversee preparation of construction drawings, engineering reports, and permitting packagesEnsure quality control and adherence to local and MSG standards as well as client expectationsClient Engagement & Business DevelopmentServe as primary client contact for residential developers, builders, and landownersBuild and maintain relationships with regional and national homebuildersPresent project deliverables to clients, regulatory agencies, and municipal authoritiesParticipate in proposal preparation, project interviews, and business development initiativesRegulatory & Permitting CoordinationManage permitting and reviews with municipalities, local review agencies, and Ohio EPANavigate zoning, entitlement processes, and early-stage land planning requirementsAddress comments from reviewing agencies and coordinate revisions with internal teamsConstruction SupportOversee construction-phase services including site visits, RFIs, change orders, and coordination with contractors and field staffAssist clients and contractors with resolving design or field issues to keep projects movingTeam Leadership & MentorshipDirect and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and techniciansCoordinate multi-disciplinary support from environmental, transportation, survey, construction and geotechnical groupsPromote a collaborative, growth-focused team cultureQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) license, preferably in Ohio, or ability to obtain within 6 months8+ years of civil site development experience, with at least 2 years focused on residential land developmentStrong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (alignments, corridors, grading, profiles, pipe networks)Demonstrated experience managing clients, projects, budgets, and multi-disciplinary teamsKnowledge of local development codes, stormwater regulations, and residential design standardsPreferredExperience with large, multi-phase residential communities or master-planned developmentsFamiliarity with Columbus-area permitting agencies and development processesStrong understanding of hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and stormwater best practicesExperience in mentoring staff and leading internal design teamsBenefits401(k) w/ company matchHealth insurance w/ HSA option, Vision, Dental, LifeFlexible schedulePaid time offReferral programTuition reimbursementCatalytic Coaching – Employees draft a development plan aimed at improving contributions in their current job and increasing potential for other opportunitiesIt is the policy of our company to follow equal employment opportunity procedures in compliance with federal, state and local criteria.
