  • Mentor, train, and evaluate field QA inspectors, providing technical direction and on-the-job training to ensure inspectors are qualified, knowledgeable, and proficient in accordance with project quality assurance procedures.
  • Direct and oversee the review and evaluation of contractor quality control documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements; identify systemic gaps and escalate findings to the QA Manager with recommendations for contractor corrective action and process improvement.
  • Lead audit and surveillance programs of contractor and subcontractor civil QC systems, evaluating effectiveness and preparing detailed audit reports and non-conformances with root cause analysis and recommended corrective actions for submittal to the QA Manager.
  • Coordinate and oversee key civil testing and inspection activities (compaction, concrete, rebar, utilities), ensuring contractor QC testing is being performed correctly, at the required frequency, and that results meet project specification and code acceptance criteria per applicable standards.
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of complex civil QA issues; drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, verification, and nonconformance closure per the project QA program.
  • Maintain civil QA documentation and reporting, ensuring all QA activities are properly documented and communicated to the QA Manager, contractor QC teams, and engineering, while identifying quality trends, systemic issues, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement of the QA program throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.

Requirements (What You ll Bring):
  • Minimum of 12 years experience as a quality inspector on large-scale industrial projects, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/lead capacity and 3+ years of experience as a client/owner quality representative.
  • Ability to read and interpret discipline-specific technical documents, communicate clearly with field QA inspectors, contractor QC, and the QA Manager on findings, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Advanced knowledge of QA program requirements and key construction codes (e.g., ACI, ASTM, IBC); advanced proficiency with inspection tools (e.g., concrete slump cones, ultrasonic pulse velocity meters, cover meters, rebar locators, ground penetrating radar).
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to lead the investigation, analysis, and resolution of complex/systemic quality issues; present root-cause findings and corrective/preventive recommendations to the QA Manager.
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of quality management principles and the ability to apply and enforce them throughout all phases of the project and system turnover walkdowns.
  • Ability to lead and perform effectively within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive commissioning goals.
