These services include grading, drainage, stormwater management, SWPP, fencing, SESC, site plans and geotechnical design. We look for an enthusiastic individual to develop within and further the technical skills we bring to our new and existing client base. Qualified candidates will lead discipline work for projects, perform responsible engineering, and support the project manager on schedules, budgets, and deliverables in all aspects of site civil work.The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:Lead and manage all civil work at substation and transmission line sites, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications and construction schedulesCreate and supervise earthwork, grading, drainage systems, access roads, cable trenches and foundations (equipment, controls buildings and towers/poles) and to substation and transmission linesReview, interpret and create civil design drawings, technical documents, report discrepancies and provide practical solutionsManage site surveys to include (geotechnical and ground/LIDAR) to assist with determination of transmission line routes and substation layoutsReview and approve civil construction methodologies, work plans and method statements submitted by contractorsIdentify and mitigate site issues such as geotechnical conditions, access and environmental constraints and constructability challenges by providing timely technical supportCoordinate closely with electrical, protection, commissioning, planning and project management to resolve interface and constructability issuesInteract with customer's internal engineers and technical experts on a day-to-day basisDevelop and maintain professional relationships with clientsProvide technical leadership to site civil engineers, inspectors, assign tasks, review work and mentor team membersFully versed with and can check and review the work sequence, general content and the methods used to generate specifications for the calculations as well as the approval, revision, retention and storage of calculationsAssist with the developing task and effort estimates for proposal supportSupport project commissioning and hand over by ensuring that all site civil work is completed safely and to specificationUnderstands and assists with the planning and scheduling of engineering tasks within the site civil disciplineWorks to maintain positive working relationships with peersOccasional travel required to other AECOM locations and client sitesAble to participate in field walks and create field sketches, take dimensions, climb ladders, etc. as necessaryQualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationProfessional Engineering license (P.E.)Proven experience with site grading, drainage, roads, earthworks, and substation layout development and transmission access/alignmentProficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation for civil design and detailingUnderstanding of substation site planning, transmission/substation access requirements, and integration with electrical layoutsPreferred Qualifications:10+ years of relevant site civil experience with at least three of those years acting as project technical lead and/or engineer of recordStrong knowledge of international civil and design standards (IEC, BS, IEEE, ANSI etc.)Experience with construction supervision, site inspection, and commissioning supportKnowledge of hydrological analysis tools, stormwater modeling, or civil 3D/BIM softwareExperience in GIS or AIS substation developmentsFamiliarity with major utility or transmission operator standardsProfessional Engineering license in Civil in CaliforniaExperience with California Electric UtilitiesSelf‑motivatedEffective written and verbal communication skillsSuccess in working with remote teamsExperience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finishExperience with retrofit or brownfield projectsExposure to supporting renewable generation projectsAdditional InformationRelocation assistance is not available for this roleSponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available for this positionAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
