Overview
TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a
Civil & Structural Engineering Manager
to lead a team of engineers and designers supporting complex industrial projects across multiple markets, including energy, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, power, food & beverage, and industrial infrastructure.
This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering professional who enjoys developing high-performing teams, driving technical excellence, supporting business growth initiatives, and delivering successful project outcomes. The successful candidate will provide both people leadership and technical oversight while partnering with executive leadership, clients, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership
+ Lead and supervise a team of civil and structural engineers and designers.
+ Manage project assignments, workloads, and department priorities.
+ Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and professional development to engineering staff.
+ Support succession planning, performance management, and employee development initiatives.
+ Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Civil & Structural Engineering
+ Perform structural analysis and design of industrial steel and concrete structures.
+ Support the design of buildings, equipment foundations, and related infrastructure.
+ Develop structural calculations, technical reports, and engineering deliverables.
+ Conduct seismic evaluations and support retrofit design efforts.
+ Ensure quality control standards are maintained across all projects.
+ Coordinate closely with BIM/CAD design teams and multidisciplinary engineering groups.
Project & Resource Management
+ Manage resources across multiple locations and project teams.
+ Monitor department utilization and support execution of engineering deliverables.
+ Establish expectations regarding technical quality, budget management, and schedule performance.
+ Resolve technical and project execution challenges as they arise.
+ Support project planning, cost estimating, scheduling, and task development activities.
Business Development & Client Engagement
+ Collaborate with business development teams to strengthen engineering capabilities and market presence.
+ Support proposal preparation, client pursuits, and strategic growth initiatives.
+ Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
+ Contribute to proposal efforts and help identify opportunities for business expansion.
+ Deliver innovative engineering solutions that create value for clients.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
+ Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
+ 10+ years of Civil/Structural Engineering experience.
+ Previous experience leading engineering teams or technical departments.
+ Experience delivering complex industrial and multidisciplinary engineering projects.
+ Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design for steel and concrete structures.
+ Experience performing seismic evaluations and retrofit design.
+ Experience preparing structural calculations and technical reports.
+ Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to effectively manage teams, projects, and client relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
+ Experience supporting industrial, energy, manufacturing, life sciences, or infrastructure projects.
+ Experience developing engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
+ Proven success supporting business development and proposal activities.
+ Strong understanding of BIM/CAD coordination and multidisciplinary engineering execution.
Work Environment
+ Fully remote position with occasional travel to offices and client sites.
+ Collaborative multidisciplinary engineering environment.
+ Approximately 25% travel based on project and business needs.
