    Job Summary

Join Black & Veatch as a Civil Superintendent supporting high-impact simple cycle and combined cycle power generation construction projects. In this role, you will lead field execution for civil construction activities, partner closely with craft supervision and field engineering, and help deliver safe, high-quality work that keeps critical energy infrastructure projects on schedule. You will provide hands-on direction to direct-hire craft teams, support productivity and performance goals, coordinate technical requirements, and ensure crews have the information, materials, and resources needed to execute work safely and efficiently. This is an opportunity for a construction leader with dirt, concrete, foundations, undergrounds, and civil scope experience to contribute to advanced power generation projects while building strong field teams and supporting successful project delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and support civil construction execution on simple cycle and combined cycle power generation projects, including site development, earthwork, concrete, foundations, undergrounds, and related civil scopes.
    • Monitor field activities against the CPM schedule and report progress on project milestones, installed quantities, productivity, and schedule completion.
    • Partner with craft supervisors, foremen, field engineering, quality, safety, and project controls to remove roadblocks and keep work moving safely and efficiently.
    • Review drawings, specifications, work packages, and technical requirements to help crews understand scope, sequencing, quality expectations, and installation details.
    • Develop and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules for assigned civil work and confirm labor, materials, equipment, and supporting resources are available when needed.
    • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly planning discussions with foremen and craft leadership to align work plans, safety expectations, productivity goals, and upcoming constraints.
    • Track productivity, quantities, cost performance, and schedule progress; communicate risks early and help develop corrective action plans when targets are at risk.
    • Support safe execution by developing and communicating Job Hazard Analyses for major work activities and reinforcing project safety and quality standards in the field.
    • Coordinate daily and weekly work plans with other discipline superintendents, facilitators, subcontractors, and the Construction Manager to support integrated project execution.
    • Maintain accurate daily logs, review craft timesheets, installed quantity reports, supplier logs, and progress payment requests as required.
    • Support punch list planning and completion for craft and subcontractor work, helping ensure turnover readiness and quality closeout.
    • Assist with contractor information requests, extra work authorization requests, potential back charges, out-of-scope items, and commercial recovery efforts when needed.
    • Provide work direction, coaching, training, and development support to general foremen, foremen, craft professionals, and minor subcontractor supervision.
