Opportunity

Booth Electric is a rapidly growing commercial electrical contractor based in Petaluma, California, specializing in EV fleet charging and renewable energy infrastructure. As the company continues to grow, Booth is looking to expand its civil construction capabilities and build a more integrated approach to the civil work supporting its projects.

Booth Electric is seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent / Civil Division Lead to serve as the company’s civil construction expert and help build this function from the ground up.

Initially, this individual will oversee subcontracted civil work across Booth Electric projects, ensuring quality, safety, schedule, and constructability. Over time, this leader will help establish the “Booth Civil Way”—developing the processes, standards, subcontractor relationships, and operational strategy needed for Booth to selectively self-perform civil work and ultimately build out a dedicated civil division.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee civil subcontractors across active projects throughout California, ensuring work meets expectations for safety, quality, schedule, and communication.
• Review civil scopes, subcontractor proposals, pricing, plans, specifications, and schedules for constructability and accuracy.
• Serve as Booth Electric’s internal subject-matter expert for civil construction.
• Provide field leadership through site visits, inspections, coordination meetings, and problem-solving.
• Partner with Project Managers, Estimators, and Operations to coordinate civil and electrical scopes.
• Develop civil construction standards, procedures, quality expectations, procurement processes, and subcontractor strategies.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities and areas where Booth can improve project execution and profitability.
• Determine where selectively self-performing civil work makes sense for the business.
• Help build and eventually lead Booth Electric’s future Civil Division.

The ideal candidate is a proven civil construction leader who combines strong field experience with the ability to think strategically and build processes.

• 10+ years of civil construction experience.
• Experience as a Civil Superintendent or similar field leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of grading, excavation, trenching, paving, concrete, underground utilities, and site development.
• Experience overseeing civil crews, subcontractors, and multiple concurrent projects.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, drawings, and geotechnical reports.
• Strong understanding of civil quality control, inspections, safety, and compliance.
• Experience coordinating with project management, estimating, and field operations.
• PM and/or estimating experience is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a high level of accountability.
• A builder’s mentality—you’re comfortable creating structure where it doesn’t yet exist and want the opportunity to build something for the long term.
