Position Overview

The technologist functions as a multi-skilled component of the technical staff, performing EEG, Evoked Potentials, Autonomic, and/or Nerve Conduction Studies. Responsibilities include complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, and ensuring a safe testing environment. The role requires demonstrated communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. The technologist must be highly organized, efficient, and able to work independently.

Duties

• Support patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit as well as in other inpatient settings.
• Competency in neurodiagnostic procedural testing, including electrode application for adult and pediatric EEGs using the standard 10-20 or 10-10 systems.
• Monitor and maintain EEG recordings for surgical, adult, and pediatric patients.
• Respond to seizures and troubleshoot equipment as necessary.
• Assist with SPECT injections and provide shift reports on relevant patient information.
• Act as a liaison between nurses and physicians to ensure effective communication and collaboration in support of patient care.
• Mentor student technologists rotating through the inpatient practice.

Skills and Qualifications

• Computer skills required.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including above-average communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to adapt rapidly and work independently.

Schedule Notes

• 12 Hour Shifts: Saturday/Sunday 7:00-19:30
• 8 Hour Shifts: Monday/Tuesday 15:00-23:30
• 13-week assignment

EEG or CLTM registry required and BLS certification required
