Position Overview

The technologist functions as a multi-skilled component of the division's technical staff, performing EEG, Evoked Potentials, Autonomic, and/or Nerve Conduction Studies. Responsibilities include complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, and ensuring a safe testing environment. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Candidates must be highly organized, efficient, and able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform neurodiagnostic procedural testing, including electrode application for adult and pediatric EEGs using standard systems.
• Monitor and maintain EEG recordings for surgical, adult, and pediatric patients.
• Respond to seizures and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Assist with SPECT injections and provide shift reports on relevant patient information.
• Act as a liaison between nurses and physicians to ensure effective communication and collaboration for patient care.
• Mentor student technologists rotating through the inpatient practice.

Skills and Qualifications

• Competency in neurodiagnostic procedural testing.
• Strong leadership abilities and above-average communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to adapt rapidly and work independently.
• Proficiency in computer skills.

Schedule Notes

12-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 to 19:30, and 8-hour shifts on Monday and Tuesday from 15:00 to 23:30. The team can be flexible if other shifts are needed. This is a 13-week assignment.

Certifications

• EEG or CLTM registry required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
