JOB DESCRIPTION
The Network Administrator's primary responsibilities will be to assist in the implementation, maintenance, and support of the district's network infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks, switching, firewalls, routing, and content filtering systems. Work collaboratively with the Network Engineer, to help deploy and sustain secure, reliable, and scalable network services across all district facilities. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot connectivity and security issues, and respond to outages to help minimize downtime and maintain high availability of instructional and operational systems. Support server administration tasks as assigned, including system updates, backup operations, and restoration testing to ensure business continuity. Support district's Hypervisor. Support and coordinate assigned projects, including timelines, vendor collaboration, and equipment deployment; assist with equipment lifecycle management; and maintain accurate documentation within district monitoring and change management systems.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in network engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. (relevant years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
- Experience supporting and maintaining enterprise wired and wireless network environments, including switching, routing, firewalls, and content filtering systems.
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting, VLAN configuration, wireless access point management, and performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of server administration, backup systems, virtualization environments, cyber security, and disaster recovery best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, network diagrams, system logs, and manufacturer configuration guides.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining system documentation, change management records, and project tracking.
- Must have reliable transportation to get to work.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, Security+ or equivalent networking credentials.
- Experience supporting an Alcatel Network environment.
- Five years' experience supporting enterprise network environments, including multi-site wired and wireless infrastructure.
- Experience working in a K-12 or similarly complex, large-scale organization.
- Experience managing or supporting content filtering platforms, firewall appliances, and network security systems.
- Experience with virtualization platforms and server environments (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware, Windows Server, etc.).
- Experience supporting backup and disaster recovery systems.
- Experience working with network security tools such as Arctic Wolf, Microsoft Defender, Graylog.
- Experience coordinating infrastructure projects, vendor implementations, or equipment lifecycle planning.
- Experience using network monitoring, asset management, and help desk ticketing systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and maintain the district's wired and wireless network infrastructure, including switching, access points, routing, firewalls, and content filtering systems.
- Assist with implementation of network configurations and infrastructure projects.
- Monitor network and server performance to ensure reliability, security, and high availability across all district facilities.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and security issues; respond to outages to help minimize downtime and service disruption.
- Support server administration tasks as assigned, including updates, patching, backup operations, and restoration testing.
- Manage and support assigned projects, including project planning, timeline management, vendor communication, and equipment deployment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, system changes, and project activities within district monitoring and change management systems.
- Work collaboratively with IT Leadership, and other IT Dept teams to ensure efficient and secure service delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Information Technology.
