Cross Insurance is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Claims Advocate I to join our Claims Department. This entry-level position is ideal for an individual interested in building a long-term career in the insurance industry. Claims Advocate I serves as a key resource for clients by assisting with personal and commercial insurance claims, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring accurate claim documentation and follow-up throughout the claims process.
The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and a commitment to delivering a positive client experience. Position salary range is $55k to $65K.
Responsibilities
Receive and process incoming personal and commercial lines claims.
Input claim information accurately into agency management systems and carrier portals.
Document claim activity, communications, and status updates thoroughly and timely.
Contact insurance carriers to report claims and ensure proper claim setup.
Follow up with clients, adjusters, carriers, and third parties to obtain required information and documentation.
Monitor open claims and maintain regular communication to ensure timely resolution.
Assist clients with questions regarding the claims process and claim status updates.
Review claim documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Maintain electronic claim files and records in accordance with agency standards.
Support Claims Advocates and management with administrative and claim-related duties.
Prioritize daily workload to meet deadlines and service expectations.
Collaborate with account managers, producers, and agency staff to provide exceptional client service.
Develop knowledge of personal and commercial insurance coverages and claims handling practices.
Manage auto glass claims ensuring timely response and working with carriers on closure
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, Communications or a related field.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Customer-focused mindset with a positive and professional demeanor.
Obtain adjuster’s license within the first 90 days
Preferred
Prior customer service, administrative, or insurance experience.
Interest in pursuing professional growth and a long-term career in the insurance industry.
