Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical
Claims Coordinator to support insurance claims administration, workers compensation, and risk management activities for a growing organization in North Houston. This role is responsible for tracking claims, maintaining accurate records, analyzing data, preparing reports, and coordinating with internal departments and external insurance partners to ensure claims are handled efficiently and accurately.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with confidential information, and proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel. Previous experience with workers compensation, insurance claims, or OSHA reporting is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track workers compensation, automobile, property, and other insurance claims from initial reporting through resolution.
- Collect, organize, and consolidate claims data, potential claims, and audit documentation.
- Review information for accuracy and prepare reports, spreadsheets, and statistical summaries for management.
- Serve as a point of contact between internal departments, insurance carriers, claims representatives, and other external partners.
- Ensure claims documentation and reporting are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
- Maintain tracking systems and databases for open claims, loss trends, and related expenses.
- Assist with claim file reviews, internal audits, and investigations to identify discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze claims activity and prepare reports to support risk management and business decisions.
- Monitor claims-related expenses and chargebacks, ensuring information is documented and reported appropriately.
- Support internal teams with claims procedures and help promote compliance with applicable insurance and safety reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Approximately five years of relevant experience in workers compensation, insurance claims, OSHA reporting, professional liability claims, insurance brokerage support, or related analytical work.
- Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills, especially Microsoft Excel, are essential.
- Ability to work confidently with spreadsheets, data analysis, reporting, and recordkeeping.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Familiarity with insurance processes, risk management, or claims administration is preferred.
- Associate or bachelors degree preferred; a high school diploma or GED may be accepted with relevant experience.
