• Experience handling complex, high exposure medical malpractice claims
• Strong knowledge of claims investigation, litigation management, and risk assessment
• Experience working with defense attorneys and legal teams
• Ability to analyze claim trends, exposures, and litigation strategies
• Strong reporting, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience reviewing claim files for quality, compliance, and process improvement
• Ability to mentor and develop claims professionals
Responsibilities
• Develop high exposure medical malpractice claim handling strategies and regional claim processes
• Identify, evaluate, and manage high exposure medical malpractice and professional liability claims
• Analyze claim exposure, litigation risks, and regional loss trends
• Review and oversee high exposure claim files to ensure appropriate handling and resolution strategies
• Coordinate claim review conferences and discussions for high exposure cases
• Prepare reports outlining recommendations, trends, and future action items
• Work with defense counsel to develop and implement effective litigation strategies
• Attend pretrial meetings with legal counsel as needed
• Evaluate defense counsel performance and provide feedback to management
• Audit claim files for quality, compliance, and process improvement opportunities
• Identify loss trends, attorney concerns, and emerging risks through claim reviews
• Develop reporting systems to monitor claims staff performance
• Coach, mentor, and support claims staff development through compliance and performance reviews

Develop high exposure medical malpractice claim handling strategies and regional claim processes while optimizing solutions in healthcare litigation.
• Develop structured process for early and accurate identification of high exposure cases.
• Mitigate risk through oversight, review, and analysis of high exposure cases.
• Analyze and communicate regional exposure trends and related information.
• Coordinate formal conferences/review discussions for all regional high exposure cases and create reports outlining recommended future action items.
• Coordinate with defense counsel to ensure appropriate litigation strategies are considered and implemented.
• Attend pretrial meetings with counsel.
• Provide feedback to Regional Management regarding defense counsel performance.
• Oversee and audit claim file criteria.
• Report file quality trends and opportunities for improvement to management.
• Report loss trends, attorney issues, and risks identified in High Exposure Reviews.
• Develop system for monitoring and reporting on staff performance.
• Identify Claims staff development areas through Compliance and High Exposure reviews, and coach and mentor staff.
