Responsibilities

  • Conduct ongoing quality assessments of claim files and use key performance metrics, audits, and reporting data to evaluate the effectiveness of claims staff. Provide timely coaching, feedback, and performance guidance to team members.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns through proactive communication, while developing strategies to assess satisfaction levels and anticipate emerging client needs across both internal and external channels.
  • Oversee hiring efforts and professional growth initiatives for the team. Identify training opportunities and build development plans that support long-term talent readiness and continuity.
  • Facilitate team meetings alongside unit leadership to align direct reports on objectives and reinforce standards around technical proficiency and service delivery.
  • Stay current on trends, regulations, and evolving practices within the industry. Contribute to cross-functional committees and strategic initiatives that advance broader organizational priorities.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, or an equivalent mix of relevant education and professional experience.
  • Candidates should bring four to six years of casualty claims experience, including exposure to litigated matters, along with one to three years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and delegation abilities are essential, as are excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role requires someone who is interpersonally sharp and capable of guiding teams through change effectively.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and appropriate liability coverage is required.
  • A CPCU designation is a plus.
  • Must be located in a central-time state
