Job Description

We are seeking a Project Workers' Compensation Claims Administrator to join our dynamic team at the Thacker Pass Project. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in workers' compensation program administration, claims resolution, and regulatory compliance and a proven ability to manage end-to-end claims processes, coordinate return-to-work programs, and partner with insurers and medical providers.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with injured workers, medical professionals, insurers, brokers, counsel, management, and regulatory agencies.
• Develop and maintain a project-specific workers' compensation claims manual and ensure compliance with ESIS NV provider panel and statutory requirements.
• Provide onsite training related to workers' compensation processes and requirements.
• Monitor claims activity to identify trends and issues affecting project performance and implement improvements based on lessons learned or regulatory changes.
• Oversee and process workers' compensation claims, including initiation, documentation, eligibility investigation, and communication with stakeholders.
• Identify and support subrogation opportunities and coordinate related investigations.
• Interpret laws and regulations, recommend courses of action, and present solutions to resolve claims.
• Monitor insurer claim resolution activities and maintain the Project Risk Management Information System (RMIS).
• Direct and monitor insurer performance to ensure regulatory compliance, including Special Account requirements, claim reviews, audits, and reporting.
• Interface with the insurer to manage claims, authorize reserve changes, referrals to outside counsel, and settlement strategies.
• Coordinate and support early return-to-work programs and fitness-for-duty processes, including ADA accommodation support as needed.
• Manage relationships with the onsite clinic, panel physicians, and medical providers to drive effective claims management.
• Assist Bechtel Risk Management with litigation defense and complex case support, including discovery responses.
• Gather information and file auto and other insured claims as requested.
• Perform other tasks as required by Bechtel Claims leadership.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive knowledge of workers' compensation and occupational rehabilitation procedures and practices.
• Expertise in claims resolution techniques, legal principles, and litigation process phases.
• Working knowledge of bodily injury and first- and third-party property damage claims.
• Experience with other insured claims practices and procedures.
• Ability to plan and accomplish goals using sound judgment and experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Ability to collaborate in real time through Outlook and Teams.
• Typing proficiency of 45-65 WPM.

Preferred Skills:

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Experience supporting ADA accommodation and return-to-work programs.
