Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and dependable Class 8 Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Knoxville, TN. This position is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty Class 8 trucks to ensure our fleet remains safe, reliable, and ready for operation. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced shop environment. Responsibilities - Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and diesel engine issues on Class 8 trucks
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine services
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, and electrical systems
- Use diagnostic software, tools, and equipment to accurately identify issues
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards for safety and quality
- Identify additional maintenance or repair needs during inspections
- Maintain accurate service and repair documentation
- Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized
- Follow all company safety procedures and established maintenance practices
Qualifications - Previous experience repairing and maintaining Class 8/heavy-duty diesel trucks and heavy equipment
- Strong diesel, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience using diagnostic equipment and software
- Knowledge of air brake, suspension, drivetrain, and electrical systems
- Ability to safely use shop tools and equipment
- Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs
- Valid driver's license
- Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail
- CDL and applicable certifications are a plus
