Position SummaryMTH is seeking a dependable, safety-minded, and customer-focused Class A CDL Driver to join our Operations team. This position is responsible for transporting construction materials, equipment, and supplies to various job sites while ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment where no two days are the same.This position is represented by the applicable Union. A current union membership in the Laborers union or Cement Mason's union is required to be considered for this position. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSafely operate Class A commercial vehicles in compliance with all DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and company safety policies.Transport construction materials, equipment, and supplies to multiple job sites throughout the day.Deliver materials safely and efficiently to support field crews and project schedules.Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.Complete required DOT logs, inspection reports, mileage records, and delivery documentation.Secure all loads using proper load securement techniques and equipment.Assist with loading and unloading materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual labor when necessary.Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, project managers, and field supervisors regarding deliveries.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe commercial vehicle.Report vehicle maintenance concerns promptly.Observe all traffic laws and defensive driving practices.Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing MTH at customer locations and job sites.Assist with warehouse, yard, or general labor responsibilities when deliveries are complete.Perform additional duties on job sites as assigned to support business operations. QualificationsRequiredValid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)Current DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain one)Minimum 2 years of Class A driving experienceClean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirementsAbility to safely operate manual and automatic transmission commercial vehiclesAbility to work overtime and occasional weekends when business demands requireStrong commitment to workplace safetyExcellent communication and customer service skillsDependable attendance and punctualityPreferredCurrent member of Laborers or Cement Masons Unions.Experience delivering materials within the construction industryFlatbed hauling experienceExperience securing oversized or irregular loadsForklift certification or experienceKnowledge of construction materials and equipmentExperience operating trailers or hauling heavy equipmentFamiliarity with electronic driver logs (ELDs) Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.Frequently climb into and out of commercial trucks and trailers.Bend, stoop, kneel, squat, push, pull, and reach throughout the workday.Work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow.Walk on uneven terrain and active construction sites.Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
