Class A CDL Driver – Trainee Position Open

NIS Express is hiring entry level Class A CDL drivers in Smyrna, GA. If you have completed 120 or more hours at an accredited CDL school, you qualify for our paid one-on-one training program. No over-the-road experience required.

• Weekly pay: $1,200 – $1,500
• Home time: Weekly or bi-weekly
• Area of operation: East of I-35
• Equipment: 2024–2025 Freightliner / Kenworth – APU equipped
• Freight: Dry van, 100% no-touch – ~70% drop and hook
• Training: 3 to 5 weeks paid one-on-one

PAID TRAINING PROGRAM

You will be paired with a dedicated trainer from day one. Training covers:

• Tractor-trailer operation and road safety
• ELD compliance and hours-of-service logging
• Pre and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Company policies and dispatch procedures

You go solo only after completing supervised miles and evaluations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Transport no-touch dry van freight – approximately 70% drop and hook
• Meet delivery appointments and maintain on-time performance
• Keep accurate ELD logs, DVIRs and trip reports
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report issues immediately
• Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Class A CDL license required
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Completion of 120 or more hours at an accredited CDL school
• Acceptable driving record with a focus on safety
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and pre-employment drug screen
