INSERV, Inc. is seeking highly skilled, safety-driven, and experienced Class A CDL Drivers specializing in Tanker Operations to join our premier logistics and environmental services team. Based out of our Mishawaka operations hub, this role is critical to executing our regional industrial services, hazardous and non-hazardous bulk transport, and materials management contracts.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENT NOTICE:

Candidates MUST possess a valid Class A CDL with a Tanker (N) Endorsement and show NO manual or operational restrictions at the time of application. Hazardous Materials (H) endorsement is highly preferred and must be obtainable.

Compensation:

$28 - $33 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Bulk Liquid Transport: Safely operate, maneuver, and transport commercial motor vehicle combinations consisting of Class A tractors and bulk liquid tankers (hazardous and non-hazardous materials).
  • Surge Management & Handling: Demonstrate mastery over liquid surge dynamics, ensuring safe cornering, braking, and general operation under variable load volumes and challenging weather conditions.
  • Load & Unload Operations: Oversee and execute the safe loading and offloading of bulk liquids utilizing onboard and external pumping systems, compressors, and gravity-fed connections; meticulously manage hose connections, venting, and grounding protocols.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Strictly adhere to all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and EPA regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) logging, electronic logging device (ELD) management, and weight thresholds.
  • Pre/Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct rigorous pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, verifying the mechanical integrity of the tractor, tanker valves, seals, gaskets, placarding, and safety containment equipment. Immediate reporting of variances to maintenance control.
  • On-Site Professionalism: Coordinate seamlessly with facility operators, project managers, and dispatch units to ensure precise product delivery, accurate bill-of-lading (BOL) documentation, and uncompromised site safety compliance.

Qualifications:
  • Licensure: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) in good standing.
  • Endorsements: Tanker Endorsement (N) is mandatory. Combination Tanker/Hazmat (X) is heavily preferred.
  • Restrictions: Must have NO restrictions (including no automatic transmission restrictions, airbrake restrictions, or intrastate-only restrictions) preventing full operational flexibility.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of verifiable commercial driving experience, with a definitive focus on bulk liquid tanker operations. Experience with vacuum trailers or hazardous chemical transport is an asset.
  • Safety Record: Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major moving violations, preventable accidents, or safety suspensions within the past 36 months.
  • Physical Requirements: Must pass a DOT physical examination, functional capacity evaluation, and satisfy all FMCSA drug and alcohol clearinghouse screening regulations. Ability to handle heavy hoses (up to 50 lbs) and climb tank ladders safely.
