Class A - CDL Truck Driver

Job SummaryReporting to the Logistics Supervisor, the CDL Driver will be responsible for delivering Seltzer's products regionally using a tractor trailer from our facility in Palmyra. This requires excellent driving skills as well as an individual who keeps clean, organized records and possesses strong people skills.ResponsibilitiesPerforms safety checks of brakes, tires, steering column, lights and mirrors on the tractor prior to each leg of the journey to ensure road readinessPerforms safety checks of the brakes, tires, lights, air systems, flooring components, roof components, sidewalls, reefer unit and rear guard on the trailer prior to each leg of the journey to ensure road readiness and product integrityAccurately recording drive times as well as delivery timesAssist in unloading cargo when delivery sites are understaffed, maintaining product quality throughout transportationAdhere to traffic safety regulations at all times and exercise caution in treacherous circumstancesPrompt communication of any delays or issues to Plant Manager and Warehouse Supervisor.Count product during loading and/or unloading to ensure physical count matches Bill of Lading or Invoices.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GEDCDL LicenseTwo years of experience working as a CDL driver with no legal or safety incidents on recordCORE COMPETENCIESStrong people skills – You are the last face the customer sees as a representative of the companyWillingness to comply with regulations and rulesConsistency and truthfulness in keeping organized logs and reportsSome degree of mechanical skills which may be needed when collaborating with maintenanceAbility to adapt to new technologiesMath skills for calculating bills of lading and for understanding customer documentationAbility to operation Material Handling Equipment or Manual Pallet JackAble to lift, push and/or move items up to 75 pounds on a repetitive basis.Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) office hours to meet established deadlines.
