A day on the road
You begin with a thorough pre-trip inspection, confirming the truck and trailer are road-ready and compliant. With your route planned, you secure the load, document the details, and roll out—staying alert to traffic, weather, and customer timelines. Throughout the day, you communicate proactively about any route changes, deliver accurately and on time, and keep your logs and trip records current. Post-trip, you note any mechanical issues, keep the rig clean and professional, and close out documentation before heading home.
What you’ll drive and deliver
- Operate a commercial truck and trailer safely and in line with company policy and DOT rules
- Move materials between assigned origins and destinations using sound knowledge of regional roadways and commercial driving standards
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to verify equipment condition and compliance
- Keep driver logs and trip documents complete, accurate, and up to date
- Properly secure every load to prevent shifting and damage
- Report incidents, accidents, mechanical issues, or safety concerns right away
- Follow FMCSA drug and alcohol testing regulations at all times
Compliance is part of the job
- Stay current with DOT, OSHA, and all applicable federal and state transportation regulations
- Support TTB obligations and related regulatory activities where required
- Maintain all required certifications and endorsements
- Prepare and carry proper documentation for HazMat and tanker moves when applicable
- Assist with permits and license management for the fleet
Customer service in motion
- Deliver professional, timely service to both external customers and internal partners
- Hit delivery windows with accuracy and consistency
- Communicate promptly about delays, route updates, or service issues
- Assist with safe loading and unloading practices
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable
Schedules
- Shift A: Sunday - Tuesday (6:00AM – 6:00PM) and Wednesdays (6AM – 12PM)
- Shift B: Sunday night - Tuesday night (6:00PM – 6:00AM), and Wed (6PM – 12AM Thur)
- Shift C: Thursday - Saturday, (6:00AM – 6:00PM) and Wed (12:00PM – 6:00PM)
- Shift D: Thursday - Saturday nights, (6:00PM – 6:00AM), and Thur (12:00AM – 6:00AM)
What you’ll bring
- Active Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Clean driving record
- HazMat endorsement (required for certain roles)
- Tanker endorsement (required for certain roles)
- Meets all FMCSA and DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Ability to pass DOT physical and background requirements
- Working knowledge of DOT rules and safe driving practices
Preferred
- 2+ years of commercial driving
- Experience hauling regulated or hazardous materials
- Comfort with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Experience handling fleet compliance documentation
