Bonnie Plants is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Class A Truck Driver with strong physical and mental stamina, dedicated work ethic, and a commitment to delivering products accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and maintains a clean driving record. This role requires the ability to work long hours on the road while consistently upholding company and regulatory standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maneuver assigned Class A vehicles in compliance with company policies and DOT regulations.
- Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) exceeding 26,000 lbs. and tow loads over 10,000 lbs.
- Ensure trailers are properly secured and correctly attached to tractor units.
- Transport live goods and hard goods from origin to designated destinations.
- Secure cargo to prevent shifting, damage, or breakage during transit.
- Verify that shipment contents match the manifest and obtain necessary signatures or warehouse scans upon delivery.
- Maintain regular communication with dispatch and report any delivery or route issues promptly.
- Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections and accurately document findings.
- Monitor weather and road conditions prior to departure and adjust driving accordingly.
- Keep vehicles clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Schedule and perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks (fueling, fluid checks, tire pressure, etc.) and promptly report major maintenance needs.
- Follow all delivery schedules and take required rest breaks in accordance with DOT guidelines.
- Adhere to all Company, Local, State, and Federal regulations, including ICC and DOT requirements.
- Prioritize safety and maintain a high standard of professionalism at all times.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
- Clean driving record with no recent moving violations.
- Ability to pass a background check, DOT physical, and drug screening.
- Proven ability to operate large commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Skilled in maneuvering and parking tractor-trailers in various environments.
- Strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and focus.
- Physically and mentally capable of meeting job demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate electric lifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and related equipment.
- Proficiency with truck-rated GPS and routing systems.
- Dependable, self-disciplined, and resourceful, with strong stress-management skills.
