Class A Fitter Welder Pay: $34.00 $36.00 per hour (DOE) Location: Tulsa, OK 74131 Shift: Monday Thursday | 6: 00 AM 4: 30 PM (OT Fri/Sat as needed) Job Type: Temp-to-Hire Position Overview The Class A Fitter Welder is responsible for fitting, welding, and assembling pressure and non-pressure components in a high-spec fabrication environment. This Class A Fitter Welder role requires advanced welding skills, blueprint interpretation, and the ability to meet strict ASME code requirements. The ideal Class A Fitter Welder is highly experienced, detail-oriented, and capable of producing X-ray quality welds. Required Experience & Skills 5+ years of fitter/welder experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding procedures Experience with FCAW, SMAW, and GTAW welding processes Ability to weld in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead) Strong knowledge of ASME code standards Experience working with carbon, stainless, chrome, and nickel alloys Ability to perform layout, fitting, cutting, and tacking Proficiency using carbon arc gouging and cutting torch Ability to pass X-ray and non-destructive testing requirements Strong math and measurement skills Essential Duties & Responsibilities Fit, align, and assemble pressure vessels and structural components Perform welding on waste heat recovery and boiler systems Layout and fit components including cylinders, nozzles, tubes, headers, and structures Utilize leveling equipment to ensure proper orientation and alignment Perform welds that meet ASME code, company, and client specifications Complete welds using GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW processes Maintain high-quality standards for inspection and testing Perform additional shop labor and fabrication tasks as needed Testing Requirements 6 Sch 80 6G GTAW (Stringer/Hot Pass) + SMAW Fill/Cap 3G FCAW Plate Test Fitter test required Work Environment Fabrication/manufacturing shop environment Exposure to heavy equipment, welding operations, and high heat Physically demanding role requiring lifting, standing, and precision work Overtime required based on production needs
